" I divide my time between encouraging others to be creative, which I find both rewarding and enjoyable, and spending time in my studio making my own artwork. "

I have been drawing, painting and making things all my life. My earliest media exposure was through regularly getting my paintings shown on the  childrens’ TV programme ‘Sketch Club’ with Adrian Hill.  Although I always wanted to study Art, things didn’t quite work out as planned initially.  Luckily for me I got a second chance.

When my youngest daughter started school I enrolled on a Fine Art Degree course at Psalter Lane (Sheffield Hallam University) as a Part-Time student.  5yrs later in 1996 I gained a BAHons.  In 1998 I took the plunge (helped by my mum for the first year) and rented a studio at Yorkshire Artspace in the Sydney Works building on Matilda St.  In  2001 we moved into the brand new, purpose built, lottery funded Persistence Works round the corner on Brown St.   That is where you will find me still, up above the everyday world on the 3rd floor.

I divide my time between encouraging others to be creative, which I find both rewarding and enjoyable, and spending time in my studio making my own artwork.

If you want to get in touch or make an appointment to see me  at the studio my contact details are below.  For details of ‘Open Studios’ and other events at Persistence works see www.artspace.org.uk
